I'm high so I'm having trouble processing it all, but Open AI's latest release moved on the AGI timelines excessively. I don't want to misquote, but my understanding is that people were expecting it to take place in the next 10-20 years, but now they are talking about 1-2 years (if it isn't already privately available).

The high has worn off. Still concerned/anxious about the future.
Hard to know where we'll 5 years from now given the rapid rate of progress. The o series of models appear to have no limits other than hardware. The only thing slowing down AI progress is hard physical limits.

All this looks like to me is they figured out how to cost more coders jobs
We may get AGI or even super intelligence during Trump's presidency. Wish it could have been Harris. It'll be interesting to how this disrupts things domestically and abroad. We need a competent government that can navigate through unprecedented technological progress.
