And I sure as hell am not about to go through the budget and list off things that I'd cut, because I'm sure you could come up with a counter-argument for why we need each one of those things, just for the sake of argument. But what I'm saying is, we need to change the culture in this country away from "We need money? Lets tax it out of them!" to "We need money? Where can we start to cut?" aka, spending less all around

Effective tax rates are at their lowest points in history for much of the country. As far as income tax goes the govt is literally paying half the country taxes instead of the other way around. We can cut too but to cry about taxes being too high for the avg American is either a product of not knowing what is going on or just outright lying.

No matter how you slice it, taxes are lower now for at least 80% of the country than they've ever been.

Mitt does pay like 13%, but thats more than most of the country paying 0 to negative percent (i.e. getting more back than they paid through the year)

Most "rich" people (1%ers) pay ~20-25%. Wifey and I are like a 15%ile household and our federal tax rate is less than 10% If we are going to talk about low taxes lets talk about everybody
