The part that really disgusts me is the motives behind expanding the thursday night schedule. A: NFL Network is showing these games solely to build up a viewer base for when the NFL sells the Thursday Night rights (looking squarely at content starved networks like NBC Sports, or maybe even CBS Sports). B: the scheduling is done in conjunction with MNF to try ti get every team at least one national primetime game. That's a big part of why the matchups have been
at times.
Lost in all this, though is that the product is being diluted. In a sport where each team plays so few games, there shouldn't be an "oh shyt, a game's on!" moment. On top of that, that short turnaround from a sunday game to a thursday game can be vicious. Look at what happened to the Ravens.
