After Hitler rose to power, did people who supported him regret it?

i think the most important lesson we can take from that time is what happened with the left in Germany. The Communists, Democratic Socialists, and more traditional Progressives all hated and distrusted eachother, which allowed the Nazi’s to pick them off one by one.

Anyone seriously concerned with the Trump regime should get over this Bernie-Bro’s vs Establishment Dems foolishness pronto.

I've been saying this forever (anybody who was here in 2016 knows it). Unfortunately people are more worried about having a moderate vs. progressive civil war than they are about getting Trump out. :francis:

Maybe look deeper than a random comment on an anonymous message board. The Nazi's won the Reichstag with only 32% of the vote...and were largely supported by disaffected WW1 vets who were easy to quickly organize and deploy against the rest of Germany who they blamed for sabotaging WW1. It's impossible to tell how genuine the support was throughout the 30's because they immediately implemented a police state and started stomping out all resistance. It stands to reason, though, that the fact that they had to deploy secret police, concentration camps, vast propaganda, etc. they did't have the latent support that outside appearances might have given. It's like looking at all of North Korea almost comically howling in the streets when Kim Jong Il died as evidence that they supported him and weren't just terrified that their family (or entire neighborhood) would be sent away to prison camp if they didn't make a large enough display of support.

No matter how big of an a$$hole Trump is, comparing him to the Nazi's is, frankly, disrespectful to the Nazi's ability to seize power in Germany. Trump is a fukking clown...the Nazi's weren't. They were evil and capable. Within the first year of Hitler's Chancellorship they had outlawed all political parties and imprisoned all significant political opponents....we're nowhere close to that thankfully. Hell, we're about to have an election. There were no more elections in Germany after 1932.

Good explanation. The Nazi’s were on some other shyt we will most likely never see again.

Not the same situation...

For starters, Hitler never lost a popularity vote...The majority of this country hates Trump and he's a moron...

Trump only in office due to the retarded electoral college that does not accurately represent the country and only exists to appease former slave states...
I pray if we get the presidency along with the House and Senate that they abolish the electoral college and whatever gives the red states so much power within the senate.

Germany was in a deep hole after defeat in world war 1.

Hitler got them out of that hole when all the other parties were bickering among themselves. Its important to note that most of Germany wasn't against Hitlers tyranny and neither was most of the surrounding countries. Hitler only met opposition when he started invading other countries, they weren't neccesarily against his beliefs.

I don't think hardcore Nazis regretted supporting Hitler. It may be difficult for us folks to understand but there are still people today all over the world that believe Hitler was right.

Highly recommend the book "The Death of Democracy" to answer your question, OP.

The Nazi's took advantage of a perfect storm that they helped create in order to seize power and keep it. The book gives you a deeper understanding of exactly what happened prior to the Nazi regime. @Shogun gave a good summary, but to fully grasp, it's a lot more to cover than anyone can on a message board :yeshrug:

The capitalists bankrolled the Nazis too I don’t want to hear that shyt. Communists beat the Nazis plain and simple , America and the west were trying to protect colonies in Africa while ussr was fighting 200 German fronts at once
