i think latinos not considering themselves black is partly misinterpreted. when us latinos think black, we think of african americans. some latinos are very ignorant on matters of race, and think u are calling them african americans if u say they are black. so basically they are saying "im not black like tyreke in the projects". its no excuse and its still a little ignorant, but i think most latinos understand we do have african ancestry.
it goes back to latinos arriving here during the 40s and 50s and being treated just as bad as african americans and saying shyt like "im not even from here! i aint african american!" still dumb but like i said, we do understand that we all have african ancestry.
