Doing the show means they can stop touring nonstop. And they can continue making music they want.

Of course. .. I just posted that as an oversimplification of the likely thought process before accepting that gig. The Jimmy gig has them set for life. And I'm not mad at.that . But again, Thought appears uncomfortable at times. He's come around though.
And Thought has always peppered his lyrics with black oriented content. On the third (might have been the second album) studio album (not counting organix) , he refers to himself as "pro black" ...
He got at Nas publicly on the radio for frontin like he was really giving back to Africa when Thought gave examples of how he was really doing it.
But no, the RooTs and Quest are not Afrocentric.
