I'm planning on getting some houses built in Ghana when I get my income level up. I might not live there until I'm older though if at all.

If you or your parents come from a country which is booming atm, this is the time to think about plans for investing as you will have the language/culture/family links advantage over the Chinese & Indians who are there already/planning to go there

I'm in the process now of setting up a few businesses in Nigeria now, including a poultry and some dormitory housing. Not sure if I plan on living there as the block is hot as fukk in the east right now, but I visit there all the time. At least once or twice a year.

Was born in the Chi, moved to Nigeria in 08 and I been here ever since. Got hooked up with a cool Job and I been :win: ever since.

Nigeria and most parts of West Africa in General are like the wild wild west, so much opportunity but little to no law and order. Personally if you have roots or connections in Africa or any other developing nation I'd advise anyone to pack your bags and give it a shot. :yeshrug:

Over here, no worries about the "white man holdin a brotha back", people show mad love once they know your American, and the ladies are :ahh:

I think most people agree they wouldn't go back full time. What are your biggest concerns? My biggest complaints are just the basic things. Those things that only a stable government can provide.

1. infrastructure - The feeling of knowing that power is always available unless your area gets hit by a major storm.
2. Red Tape and corruption - knowing that you don't have to bribe officials to get basic things like licenses, permits, electricity, phone lines etc.
3. Good Roads
4. Great higher education system.

I have my quarrels with the US but I wouldn't trade living here for a lot of places.

Its probably the one of the most if not the most stable country in africa so that helps business, you don't have to worry about civil wars, riots (or being kidnapped in the night lol) terrorism etc. Rising incomes, just discovered alot of oil, land is still relatively cheap (to westerners, although it is rising fast).

Police are b/s tbh as in most african countries.

Get in there before the Chinese have it on lock!

those are pretty much my concerns. I wouldn't mind living in South Africa though

this was partly my motivation for this thread. Seems like china is going to own everything in africa if we aren't careful. Plus the Portuguese are going to Angola in droves

Norfeast groovin…
My mom is building a huge house out there. Wholetime, a lot of the older members of my family have moved back to Ethiopia already. One uncle is building a hospital, another built a hotel/club, another is farming, doing import/export, and building a cafe. Eventually when I get enough money saved up I wanna open a restaurant in Addis and let my brother run it, the good thing about Ethiopians and Africans in general is that the whole family will get involved and invest, work, whatever if the business is truly viable.

I'll prolly make the move in my mid-40s early 50s unless something radical for the worse happens in this country. The day they bring the draft I'm in Ethiopia.

I plan to permanently move to Somalia in the near future and leave this land of godless sodomites. Somalia is pretty virgin in terms of untapped natural resources and anything I start has a 98% chance of being successful whether it's factories that produce basic items like dairy products or farming, or even heavily invest in local growing business or religious institutions.

Only problem is I have no experience surviving in such cut-throat environment being from the west, even though I supposedly come from the biggest most respected clan that buss they guns, I really don't know how to use that to my advantage however by the time I return--that primitive sh!t shouldn't matter as the country is moving at a fast rate towards recovery and stability.

you're a alias, so your answer don't matter
