1. Anti-Science ...where? I have given science links with evidence proven that the shyt is a scam.

2. African Ancestry is a different kind of science now?

60 minutes ...years ago

That video does not say what you think that it says. Again it is pretty clear you are anti-science which is your right. You can be as ignorant as you want to be. It does not bother me. The fact that you don't understand how DNA works and what haplogroups are is astonishing. However, this thread is not about spreading your ignorance. This thread is about African Ancestry pushing tours based on your DNA.

Above the fray.
:mjlol:

The arrogance of his ignorance.
Video threw me off. The two modern day countries border each other......and the traditional area of Igbos is not to far from the border with Cameroon.
What is seen today as Igbo is a consolidation of related groups, I think.

I mentioned/asked some members that in a Root thread and I think some took offense to it.

Why are you conflating the objective of DNA tests with the objective of Ancestry tests..... they strive to achieve 2 extremely different things

Two different things using the same basic concepts. In paternity testing they try to determine your father. From those results they can also determine your paternal grandparents and if need be even your paternal cousins, etc. In ancestry testing they can determine your cousins, because you and the cousins had the same grandparents or great grandparents, etc., at some point in time. You all would carry identical portions of DNA. It is literally passed down.

You didn't expose anything except your own ignorance about what haplogroups are and your basic understanding of how basic DNA works. Once again I will point out that this thread is about African Ancestry connecting people to regions and ethnic groups in Africa, rather than about the fact that you didn't pay attention in high school biology.

Paternity tests requires samples from 3 living parties....... Also, paternity =/= ancestry..... at best, they are taking the results of my DNA and matching similarities to group of million plus other people in particular regions of the world..... that's not ancestry.. the data you get back is mostly legit, but like I said, it can't determine your ancestry

Paternity testing is ancestry. Your father, your mother and their parents are literally your ancestors. If a father is deceased and unavailable for DNA testing they can literally test a blood relative of the father to determine if a child was related to the father. That is why grandparents of a child can be used to determine the biological relationship of a child to a parent.

It is literally the same concept as DNA. In DNA testing they compare you to people in a region. If they see identical DNA between you and people in a region then they know at some point that you and your cousin had a common ancestor (grandparents, great-grandparents) at some point.
