i agree with their critique of crypto, but i disagree with their conclusion that the traditional system is "broken". it is actually working how it was designed, which is to transfer wealth from the bottom to the top. there is no amount of "fixing" that will help black people stop being seen as food to these vultures, sadly. that would require a new system...

crypto aint it, not because it is flawed, but because it replicates capitalism in a more potent way.

I bet them clowns in the crypto thread won't post this.
its true that much of the marketing around this stuff was basically selling dreams and specifically targeted black ppl
but
if you dont know how to gauge your own risk tolerance and YOLO'd your hard earned savings into some crypto pipe dream you mostly just have yourself to blame

were vulnerable, undereducated about investing people taken advantage of? yes no question
still if you spend enough time reading and researching you'll realize that the best 'investment' you can make is in acquiring knowledge and skills that will enable you to maximize your earning potential. thats one of the first lessons i'll be teaching my kids.

In 1874, abolitionist and writer Frederick Douglass was brought in to run the bank, but he quickly realized it was “the black man’s cow, but the white man’s milk.” Less than two months later, he described the situation as being “married to a corpse” and recommended Congress shutter the bank, which it did in June of that year. The bank’s assets were not backed by the federal government — a fact many customers had not realized — and many customers’ deposits were gone.
still applies today:francis:
