Mom's family is from Albany, GA and Sheffield, AL
Pop's family is from Tennessee

Found out I had two family members that fought in the Civil War.

They fought under the name Barrow and were out of the Barrow Plantation in Louisiana.

Mother side - She was born in Belle Glade, Florida but my great grandmother people are from Georgia (around Thomson, GA area)

Father side- Born in Arkansas but traces back to Monroe, Louisiana. I think his side started in Louisiana (found some information that we trace back to Fairbanks Plantation) and we have a shytload of cousins in Monroe that we never met. But he has an older cousin in his 80s that says we started in Alabama.

Update on this as this was nearly 5 years ago and I found out lots more.

mothers maternal great grandmother side - Thomson, GA area
mothers maternal great grandfather side - Collins, GA side

mothers paternal grandfather side - Kingman, Georgia

Basically mother side - Georgia

father paternal great grandfather side - traces back to South Carolina.

The Louisiana and Alabama part is maternal.

Paternal Side: My father's father was ADOS(mom was from VA, pops was from NC) and his mom(my grandma) is Bajan
Maternal side: Both her parents are from SC(Sumter and Eutawville)

Who is ethnically African American in here. Detail your family history. AA

Me- Born and raised new Yorker from nyc. Bronxite. And so were my parents

Maternal lineage stems from south Carolina. Grandmather came from st George sc

Both paternal lines stem from Charleston sc(both grandpas)

My fathers lineage comes from Raleigh nc mainly on my grandmas side

Me- Born and raised in East New York, graduated high school in jersey (franklin park). My parents both New York natives.

Paternal and Maternal lineage is from SC. Great-Grandpa came up in the 60s to New York.

Me: Born and Raised in Winston-Salem, NC and spent my teenage years in Biloxi, MS.
My parents are both native North Carolinians. From Winston-Salem and Lumberton.

Paternal lineage: NC and MS. On my grandmas side, I was able to trace my great great grandfather to Lowndes County, MS at the Hairston Plantation.

Maternal lineage: NC, SC, and TX. My grandma is a Radcliffe, and I was able to reconnect with a gang of Radcliffe’s in TX. My great grandfather was also a Tuskegee airmen.

Did one of those ancestry kits, and apparently, I’ve got a gang of cousins/relatives in Texas, Oklahoma, California, and Michigan.
