That was their downfall, I don't trust too many of the people that made it out that era without being dead or in prison. You either with the shyt or not, if you were with the shyt, shyt was gonna catch up to you through death or prison, if you weren't with the shyt you were most likely gonna flip.

you should actually read up on this seminal point in the movement that DID embarrass the state and the feds and thus increased crackdowns on the party and revving up of COINTELPRO targeting.
people accusing you of engaging in COINTELPRO practice aren't using hyperbole. it's specifically "questions" like yours that got people murdered.

there were agents at the time who were known, who were publicly exposed during the case and who were discovered in the years after. NONE of Afeni's comrades in NYC (many of whom would serve long sentences for other activities related to the movement, during and after the Panther's existence) ever hinted at her. she wouldn't be fukked with at all if it came out. she was routinely praised as one of the realest organizers in their ranks.
their downfall was literally government-fed misinformation that had members ACCUSING each other of being snitches, which created disunity and factions. these people were usually agents who infiltrated the Party just to gossip.

Some believe Pac's step dad "Legs" was actually a FBI informant sent to get Afeni hooked on drugs.
He was running product for Nicky Barnes, got Afeni hooked on crack, went to jail, and mysteriously died from a heart attack.
Maybe he was an agent and his "dying in prison" was just an out.His mission completed.
Same as Jack Ruby in the JFK case.He played his role and was given an out by "dying in prison"
