I’d be shocked if they don’t pop a big rating this upcoming Wednesday at least
They will, but there's a big downside. People are going to tune in on Wednesday to see whether or not Punk still has a job. Everything else that happened during the ppv is already pretty much an afterthought.

.

fukked up my boy MJF's return and the tag title match :mjcry:
In just 30 minutes, Punk took all the shine from MJF, Powerhouse Hobbs, Swerve & Lee, The Acclaimed, and everybody else who busted their ass to put on that show.
There should be a long line of people backstage who want to slide Phil.

For all y’all saying this is a work, you think Discovery is ok with this being the image of one of their shows? A wrasslin show at that? The same company that said tone down your language wants the whole world thinking this multi million dollar platform is a bunch of vanilla midgets who can’t get along publically with one another under a quiet church mouse of a boss?
do you think AEW would be broadcasting Punk's ranting and still leave it up on youtube for people to checkout if it wasnt a work?

Right. Now that MJF is back ppl think they are right in calling all of that a work too. It's obvious that started off as a shoot that they turned into a work. Wardlow did an interview saying that MJF shyt fukked up the push he had.

I don't get this logic.

MJF returned so it's clearly a work?

It can't be that there were real problems with MJF backstage that got resolved when both sides got what they want?

Why use Colt Cobana as a work?

Why overshadow MJF's return? CM Punk isn't going to fued with Hangman next

And the most important part of this all is that it didn't happen on the show, or inside the ring.

lol
This whole trend of everyone calling everything a work just so they can say they weren’t “tricked” is so corny. There are people that thing Vince retiring is a work smh. People has to understand that without actually being in the industry we will never know how things work. And we really shouldn’t care. IMO everything is real until proven otherwise in a tell all podcast.

MJF had issues and they aired it out on tv to beat it head on. The issues got resolved and he is back to work. If he finishes his contract and chooses to leave then so be it. But if he chooses to resign because he is actually a top guy then that doesn’t mean it was all a work.

The average wrestling fan doesn’t know what is real and what isn’t.

Keep in mind, Tony Khan is the same guy who let Jon Moxley & Ace Steel drop f-bombs on live television, and didn't edit them out of subsequent replays.
Also, it would be stupid for AEW to pull that clip from YouTube. It was a press conference. "Reporters" had voice recorders & cell phones, and would've put out the footage anyway. It makes business sense for AEW to capitalize on the publicity & garner some YouTube views.
