The gameplay in the WWE games is different from this. Also building a game up from scratch takes years and realistically if they wanted to make something like their last WWE game (presentation wise) they would probably need an extra year or two in development. They're literally working with the company that made the GOAT "Here Comes The Pain", so there's no excuse for this bullshyt. I don't know why people think trying to recreate a 22yr old overrated game was a good idea. BTW: The disclaimer is just them covering their ass. I guarantee what they showed today will be the same thing in February.
Yeah I actually have always seen the smackdown series on PS1/PS2 as more arcadey than the the N64 games.I keep seeing AEW fans saying they prefer No Mercy gameplay because it's more "arcadey" than the 2K series, but isn't that just due to advanced tech and added features of 2K over the years versus a specific game design choice to make No Mercy less of a sim? I remember No Mercy trying to reflect the pace of a real match and presentation, dudes aren't exaggerated caricatures on there or doing impossible moves.
Sting was a regular sized character in the original. Now he'll be a super heavyweight that's hard to lift in comparison to the vanilla midget roster.Sting and The Giant who were in WCW/nWo Revenge from 1998 will also be in this game.
You buggingThis reminds me more of Def Jam than No Mercy but I'm sure a lot of wrestling fan CACs avoided Def Jam
First 2 Def Jam games are how you use the AKI Engine to perfection. This reminds me more of Def Jam than No Mercy but I'm sure a lot of wrestling fan CACs avoided Def Jam
Yeah, There's no way to spin thatThey been there 2+ years. What would be the reason for them not being in it
im just gonna assume theyre saving them for a tag team DLC package including FTR, Acclaimed, Swerve/Lee etcYeah, There's no way to spin that
- Minigames were an AEW idea that they insisted on.
- The idea of community creations was pushed early into development, but AEW refused. They changed their minds later but by then features would have to be cut to make it happen. Unsure if this feature will make into the game.
- Heavy resources were put into the Story Mode with multiple talents doing voiceover such as John Silver, Orange Cassidy and MJF (who wrote a promo for the game).
- At one point there were story mode materials that were set to be prepared for The Bunny, Ricky Starks and Keith Lee, but there was some backtracking on that. Unsure where it stands now.
- In addition to FTR, Evil Uno, Jake Hager, Private Party, The Acclaimed and Santana & Ortiz are also not part of the initial release of the game.
- FTR is currently planned to be released later as DLC.
- Kenny Omega is expected to present the game at Tokyo Game Show.
