I just received an email from my school about a company that wants to hire several co-ops. I meet the requirements 3.0 Gpa, coursework in the area, etc. I feel like Id get for a couple reasons im black (affirmative action ftw
), apparently co-ops aren't as competitive, and the deadline is July 6 which is next week so its a small window if opportunity. I would be living in a separate state but its paid for
Pros for me:
The relocation is in CT where I have a brother who goes to school there (Yale) and a friend of mine who goes to MIT (only 2hrs away from Boston, I visited Boston earlier this year and I really loved the city). Im also talking to a chick (who goes to NYU so Id have connects in NY as well)
Pay is great (22-25/hr)
I recently lost one of my scholarships
(cant get below a 3.2 for two consecutive semesters I fukked up last school year, I was like one late paper away from getting the 3.2 last semester
) so earning 10 to 14k instead of going to school next semester would be great financially
Potential job for when I graduate
Cons:
Really there is no cons other than possibly putting my degree on hold (idk how co-ops work)
Anybody have experience with this and/or done this before
