Advanced Techs: Hard Drive Failure Diagnosis

Whats wrong with my drive. As you can see, it turns on when plugged into usb, the harddrive spins, the heads do something strange and then it shuts off and the heads return to the place they started in. Can anyone with advanced pc knowledge or anyone who knows anyone with advanced harddrive hardware knowledge view this video and give me their weigh in. Anything besides, *its broken*. Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Pc is not seeing this drive and i cant get the data i have off of it, which is important.

the head is broken. well, most likely the motor that moves the head is fukked up.

if you havent fukked up the data while you were opening it, you can just give it to a specialist, and hed recover it easily imo.

I opened it flawlessly. I have not touched the Platter, at all.

The actuator arm has failed. It can no longer position itself correctly. It's attempting to locate a track on the drive, but the data it's reading it's not what's expected, so it resets and tries again.

You will save time just sending it to a data recovery firm. They're not real cheap, but not much more expensive than buying an identical drive and part swapping.

I found out what happened. I asked my girl to copy some shyt to my drive yesterday while i was at work and somewhere along the way this broad drops my fukkin drive while its copying from the top of a goddamn dresser to the fukking ground. Dont ask me how or why she put it there. Shes lying over here now with her back to me so she doesnt have to look in my eye.


I been interrogating her about this for 24 hours and she tried to front about it like a little kid. Talkin bout *i was scared. You're scary. * Had me lookin like a idiot troubleshooting the shyt like hmmm what would cause such a mysterious error maybe i can do this or that. Stop it. She was boo hoo'ing over how upset i was over this yesterday. Im like . What you all sad about. You dropped this shyt didnt you. DIDNT YOU
