Never been able to get into this show at all, but I admit it's partially because literally every character looks like they got beat with the ugly stick. :heh:
The animation is terrible and outside of H Jon Benjamin every character has the most annoying voice I've ever heard in my life

Bob's Burgers gives me a different, happier vibe than a lot of the other animated family sitcoms.

Bob and Linda genuinely love and support their kids despite their eccentric ways. They make fun and tease their kids but it's never done viciously like say Meg on family guy.

I like how the fact that they make very little money and struggle with their business is actually reflected in their day to day life. Seeing Peter whine about money and talk about how poor they are when they got a two story, huge house is strange.

I like how their is legitimate chemistry in the discussions. Characters ramble, mutter, try to talk over each other, and it's fine very fluidity.

The show is fun and just a more optimistic feeling version of the animated family sitcom

Good point. Bob & Linda's relationship is nice. I like that he's not some hapless, dopey loser and I like that they have a happy marriage. She's not a nag and he's not a fukk up. A lot other shows like this rely on these tropes and it's tired.

I feel you on the happier vibe though. Overall, the family isn't super dysfunctional and neither are any of the individual characters really. Most of the other cartoons I watch (Bojack, Rick & Morty, F is for Family), are great, but a lot of episodes are dark af. I've actually come away from a few Bojack episodes like damn that shyt was depressing.

This actually makes a ton of sense. :ehh:

It's probably the most realistic cartoon out with the exception of F is For Family. (Hopefully Cartoon Network airs that on the network one day).

Early Family Guy was dope, but the constant homo vibes and pedo jokes are too much. Same with South Park.

American Dad is the goat tho

American Dad is my favorite show but it's still way more guilty of making fun at people's expense whereas BB makes fun of situations.

AD will point to a cripple and laugh at them for being crippled, BB will put a character in a wheelchair and then make that character funny due to personality quirks and the dynamic that they present with other characters.

Yeah, I love their relationship. Bob and Linda love, support, and tolerate each other but they have very defined personalities that are consistent so you also see them annoying each other in very realistic ways.

I also love the kids relationship with each other. They're all extremely supportive, protective, and loving of each other. I like the nuances of the relationship. Linda is a daddy's girl but you can see the Linda in her so it makes sense that they clash a bit (Her love of performance, her manipulative tendecies, her motherly tendencies to her siblings, etc).

And Bojack is one of the best written shoes of all time but it is fukking depressing as fukk. It's one of the few shows I need to take breaks from.

Bob's Burgers is another take on the KotH formula...probably why I like it...it isn't too over the top like Simpsons/FG/AD...and deals on the more mundane shyt. If you ain't fukk w/ KotH, probably wouldn't like BB's...both shows are a slower intake but are pretty consistent overall.

King of the Hill is one of my favorite adult cartoons of all time but I can't stand BB
