The Traps of Unified Korea
of course im not comparing money prince made around 40 million :wow: little AB's current bank balance couldn't cover floyd's landscaping chargers :heh: im talking the flashy/cockiness/hype around he had without ever fighting a "name" you say he lost interest in boxing but if he would have KO'd barrera would his career turned out different? he was exposed as not being top tier. before barrera prince was what 35-0-31KO's? :patrice:
There's a difference between "top tier"....and All Time Great, which I believe i what people are trying to stress here.

Hamed losing to MAB would be akin to Broner losing to Pacman, and no one would be clowning Broner for that. Hamed was a legit champion. During his reign as WBO champion at 126 he beat the reigning WBA and WBC champions in his division. shyt, Bungu had been the IBF champ at super bantamnweight for about a decade before moving up to fight Nas. The "name" shyt is silly, because before Hamed crossed over in '97, and then MAB/Morales in Jan '00...I'd love for someone to tell me who the "names" were at featherweight, and before you do that, remember that until 00/01 Morales and MAB were at 122.

Comparing Broner to Nas is disrespectful as Nas was rightfully the kingpin of his division. Yeah he lost to one of the greatest fighters of all time, but really, we're writing people off for that? Broner just got his ass beat by a career fringe contender.

That is exactly right. Hamed was still a top fighter in the division, he just ran into one of the ALL TIME greats at that weight class. No shame in that game. He challenged the best for that fight and stayed in for 12 rounds.
Barrera exposed that Hamed's biggest weakness was going against a fighter who could outbox him...but still at the time Prince was a top 3 fighter in the division.
Again people put too much importance in records and think that is why Prince is a legend. It wasn't the record that made him great. What made Prince great was he was the best and biggest showman at the time and was a pound for pound nominee for biggest puncher and did that all from a weight class typically passed over. He was a huge draw, the guy who made over the top ring walks and swagger (before fights and during fights) popular with the next generation of fighters, and he was a top fighter in the division with that. He wasn't perfect and certainly would have been beaten again had he kept fighting, but the guy still was and would've been in the short list of best fighters in that division and would have won many more fights.

He had become tired of the bullshyt that goes on and he had a falling out with the camp who was training him. If you add constant hand injury on top of that...you can't blame him walking away if he had plenty of money in the bank.

Prince Naseem aint take half the ass whipping for one, and for 2 there's levels to this shyt Broner hasn't beat jack shyt and took l's and needed gifts and every step up match.

PNH was essentially over because of his hand issues, not shyt Barrera dirty ass did, the beating wasnt that bad. The hand issues took away from what made PNH a rare fighter and hard to beat, once in a generation would be a slight to the type of power he possessed.....

He could talk walk that shyt on top of knocking the fukk out cold....:birdman:

Let a fighter like Prince stroll around in this weak ass state of Boxing, and he'd be looked at as top 25, not to mention the added pub with the internet and all..................

its ridiculous to compare hamed to broner...hamed ruled his division for almost 6 years before losing...broner wasn't even the lineal welterweight champ or the best welter in that division...even though he won its not like barrera was stupid and decided to slug it out with hamed..he had to box textbook in order to win because he knew that power was real and it was still pretty close on the cards...the only knock against the prince was he never showed that he could come back significantly from a loss..its unfortunate he got out just as the feathers got super hot
He had another fight but his hands were gone by then.........................

We were robbed as fans with his demise and retirement, there was no event like a Prince fight for during that period, you never knew what fukkery you would see, the speed, power, awkwardness, above average and cocky d.....
