If Broner REALLY wanted the fight they would've worked it out. Both Haymon and Arum were trying to make it with Haymon apparently not getting through to Broner. Of course, Bob is always going to do in house fights before working with anyone else, but Manny vs Broner would be an EASY sell (which is why both Arum and Al were on board) and Broner would make a career payday on his biggest stage. That shows you his and some "others" mentality. A win over Manny even now would catapult Broner to bigger fights and more money. Instead, he's gonna spend 20-30 days in jail for something as simple as showing up to Court on time. He deserves everything he's NOT getting.

How much did Arum counter offer Broner's request for $6 million, since you say They wouldve worked it out...because all we heard is that Arum initially offered him the same amount he gave Timothy Bradley, which isn't enough considering Broner's name in the sport > Bradley's.

This is one of those fights where if I'm Broner's camp I'd take a lower guarantee for some back end money or take a big payday even if it's not as huge as you think it should be simply cause the Pacquiao name still holds some weight and would be a great look if you go in and get that win in impressive fashion. Of course us as the public will never know just how little money they were asking Broner's team to take.

Yeah but if he loses what does he gain? And seeing as that's more probable outcome he may wanna get as much as possible.

Arum should have took it. I think broner vs manny would do numbers (1.5 mil buys) and it probably an easy win for manny.
Broner still think he mayweather. Turning down 40 mil from roc nation was a massive L since he'll probably never earn that in his career. How much money could he be making to have high demands

It's called betting on yourself. IMO he's not even a sure fire win against the other big names at 140 or 147 so why not shoot for the biggest name out. He'll still make a few millions out of it and the upside of a win far outweighs the negatives of a loss. He could easily bounce back after a loss against Manny considering he's one of the all time greats.

AB never outpriced himself or asked for a crazy number:camby:

Arum was lying about it, and ended up coming back and saying that the guarantee AB was looking for was too risky for TR and Manny (he asked for $6 million...same amount Bradley got to face Pacquiao in their 2nd fight) to pay, because they couldn't guarantee the PPV would do they buys Broner said it would. They didn't want to take the chance of it not doing 700k+, so they moved on.
