I’m not using any object (Belt, switch, etc.) on a 4 year old. I might smack their hands or something equivalent.
6-10, Corporal punishment is a last resort for stubborn bad behavior.
By 11, you should know better. I shouldn’t have to hit you. If you fukk up, there’s plenty of psychological deterrents I can employ that will make you think twice before making a bad decision.
Basically if I’m a grown ass man and I can’t regulate my kid’s behavior without leaving cuts or bruises on them, I don’t need kids.

Saw a classmate get beat by his grandmoms in front of the class
Another kid in that same class had his father come up there and whoop him. Except he took him into the bathroom and beat his ass, all we heard was screams for the next 10 minutes
Teacher openly encouraged that shyt too

I grew up getting spankings. My mom handled it mostly, but if it was real serious then my dad got me. I didn’t get spanked much, and when I did, it was with the belt. My grandma got me with the switch once, but she has arthritis in her hands, so it didn’t really hurt. My grandpa used to would thump the hell outta you.

Never beat 3 of them... Cuz that's not what they needed
Sorta hit my oldest... But that was as a toddler (only once)
fukked up two of my sons a madddd times cuz thats what they needed. And they may needed it in the future.
