Adidas tried to hoe Noah Lyles, I feel him, I'd be mad at the NBA too

Weird headline to drop a year later.

Looks like someone put the call in.

I hope Ant eventually wins a title to really make things more awkward. Ant is now a gold medalist. That only helps him more. Plus he was in a movie with Adam Sandler and is a all star. He’s more likable and doesn’t take things serious.

That’s besides the point. I don’t care about this dude to even do the research on who he was/is signed with :mjlol:

But he has a point. All he’s saying is Adidas didn’t see him as a priority. If you’re a signature athlete they will do whatever they need to sign you. People are saying he’s stupid for not “networking”

If the top track athlete in the world has to network just to get a show deal that’s a bad look for the sport

He had a deal and is now signed to one of the largest deals for a track athlete. This all happened last year.

Nobody cares about this guy. That’s why nobody knew or cares about what shoes he is wearing. You don’t need a deal for people to check for you.

It’s still nowhere near basketball in terms of having lots of people with big endorsements.

Carl Lewis had one of the greatest Olympic Games ever in 84’ and didn’t get the type of endorsements he wanted. He equaled Jesse Owens feat of getting gold in the 100, 200, 4x100, long jump and the Wheaties box went to Mary Lou Retton.

In the US, people don’t really follow Track like they do other sports. It’s more of a niche sport.

I get that. But For folks talked about every 4 years and occasionally world championships they have longevity fame.

Black folks stay invested in the sprint champs of the 100 and many times 200 & 400 depending on popularity. I'm just not sure other folks care as much, but if a White American male or female was dominating 400 meters and under (no hurdles) the media is jumping on it and first take/undisputed/ first things first is talking about it.

Ant probably made Adidas more bread today that Lyles will make them for the duration of his contract. Nothing wrong with advocating for yourself but don't move like a ho in denial.

exactly. of course they gonna prioritize a budding NBA superstar over a Sprinter who's only relevant to most sports fans for 1 month every 4 years. :russ:
