For some reason I see this is as the starting 5…

I feel like Vogel has a great deal of respect for him having coached against him in the East and he will value Melo’s floor spacing. As for THT, I think the Lakers have a strong belief in him and based off that extension foresee a major role. This is the season AD has to play the 5 as well.

That might prob be the closing lineup but AD will never ever ever play the 5 full time.

If AD is starting at the 5 it's going to be Ariza on the wing, not Melo. Vogel has an identity that he adheres to

Bazemore or Monk will most likely start at SG with THT getting a lot of minutes for defensive purposes.


Gaol probably starts at Center.

Pretty sure I proposed that same starting lineup last week. AD so stubborn about not being the 5. But the finishing lineup is more interesting and I think has to include AD at the 5. There are a million possibilities but the most likely might be something like.....

AD
Melo
Bron
Ellington/Bazemore/Nunn (whoever can hit a shot)
Westbrook

or if egos get out of the way, most effective might even be:

He has the potential to play the KCP role if he just never dribbles the ball and is solely a spot-up shooter and defender.

None of the other options the Lakers have there have proven themselves capable of both above-average shooting and above-average defense.
