This is cool and all but are we interested in anyone under the age of 33?

we might field the oldest team of all time at this rate

I know our options are limited but :dwillhuh:
This is true as well. AC/Kuz/KCP's youthfulness showed up on defense. Melo at 38 after smoking blunts between back-to-back road games probably not closing out on shooters.

Honestly I would rather have Wes Matthews back over Bradley.

Wes can shoot better and guard bigger players like Paul George.

If they bring back Caruso you don't really need Bradley.
:mjtf:

Wes shot 33% on wide open threes this past season. When Bradley was in LA, he shot 36% and he shot 42% in the handful of games he played for Miami this year. Matthews is cooked. :camby:

You guys think with adding Russ, possibly DeMar, Carmelo etc, will win the chip or is it another 2004?

Kobe Bryant
Shaquille O'Neal
Karl Malone
Gary Payton
Horace Grant
etc

Lost NBA Finals (1-4) versus Detroit Pistons. I don't remember watching that season, so have no idea with a lineup like that, losing the Finals.
2003-04 Los Angeles Lakers Roster and Stats | Basketball-Reference.com

I believe with what Giannis said after he won, that he cursed these type of setups.

ah, Shaq and Kobe were chucking it - Detroit Pistons at Los Angeles Lakers Box Score, June 6, 2004 | Basketball-Reference.com

Lakers points in the Finals
68 - Kobe 11, Shaq 14 points, damn Pistons D was the truth

I guess Malone and Payton were at the bum stage

Payton wasn't a bum, he had been a 20-3-7 All-Star the previous year. The issue was that the triangle offense didn't match his strengths and he looked like a fish out of water all year. Together with his declining athleticism it just ended up being a poor fit that the coaching staff never adjusted to.

Malone had been a very good 21-8-5 player the previous year and actually started out well for the Lakers, averaging 15-10-4 on solid shooting in his first 20 games. But he tore his MCL in December and was a step slower when he came back.

Thing is the Lakers still had two of the top-5 players in the league and then Malone-Payton-Fisher-Fox-George should have been enough solid vets and 3pt shooters to complement them. They could have been like the 2020 Lakers. But Pistons played a brilliant defensive strategy of goading Kobe into hero ball and feeding off the dysfunction. KB only shot 38% in the Finals and 17% from 3pt, but still kept throwing up shots instead of dumping it into Shaq who was shooting 63% from the series and could have eventually put Big Ben or Sheed in foul trouble.

Outside of the Game 3 disaster where everyone played like shyt, Kobe shot 10-27, 8-25, and 7-21 in three Finals losses, while Shaq was 13-16, 16-21, and 7-13.

Nah man, it's a definitive super team, according to some Coli posters even better than the Nets and if you say otherwise you're just trying to make excuses for Bron.

wes does guard bigger players (can even guard SF's like Kawhi) better than avery (better at dribbling guards like kyrie) but he clearly isn't a better shooter/scorer than bradley.

Malone being injured it why we lost. Slava medevedenko was getting significant minutes for us
