First off, we're the only ones with varying skin tones to this disagree and there's an entire context of history of why it's a big deal in our culture. Come on man.

There are dark and light Asians Indians Mexicans even Europeans and they all have their colorisim that they deal with within their culture. There’s a difference between being aware of the history and really caring and this chick really really does not want to be called lighskinned in 2019. Smdh. Im dark and when I was young I was made fun of and all that but at this age I havnt thought about my skin tone in years .

Cool but that's irrelevant to what I stated. I said no other group of people have the varying of skin tones like black people. That's a non-debatable fact of life. And just because you personally are over it doesn't dictate how it effects someone else. I'm glad that it didn't have a lasting impact on you, maybe you're mentally stronger than her in that aspect, who knows? But how you deal with it has zero to do with her. She has ever right to express how it effects her.

1. nikkas started hating on champagne because they thought he was a fraud and not because of aesthetics. 100% related to preserving the integrity of hip hop culture and not some mass crusade against high yella nikkas with 3B hair and white mamas. but you already know that sis. cut it out

2. i'm a triple OG who remembers well when the lightskin & curly haired admixture brothers like el debarge ruled the roost. we didn't change things but either constantly crying or trying to conform to the beauty standard by way of wearing toupees made out of indian men's hair. watch us and follow what we do ma which is staunch non-conformist self promotion... like dark skin big daddy kane did when he labeled himself a sex symbol in '88 when the world was focused on al b sure and philip michael thomas

That history lesson :salute: I remember.

She not brown skin tho.

People think light skin means light brite right next to white.:mjlol:

She's at the tipping point to be considered light skin.

Yara shouldn't be mad tho. In a another 4-5 years when she plump up a bit she gone be ready.:manny:

This is a first world problem if there ever was one. I'm typically called "light-skinned" but even if I was called brown-skinned or weirdly even called dark-skin, how does such a harmless descriptor even have any effect on your self-esteem? Like what the fukk, who cares?

She didnt say anything wrong but The Coli gonna make it that way.
Not even about right or wrong, its about priorities. Who cares about stupid shyt like this? The fact this is such an emotional issue for her tells you that she has an easy ass life and doesn't have shyt to worry about.

1 starring for biracial bird brain babble.

My fukkin problem is nikkas gettin mad at HER for stating how she feels. Shorty said nothing wrong and honestly this site is full of dummies. Which is why I doubt half the people on this site that claim to be black really are black. It’s a known fact black people come in varying complexions and skin tones and we see it our own family. I have really dark people in my family and really light people but at the end of the day we all black.

I said it wrong. Let me rephrase it. I mean every time a biracial celebrity says something about not being accepted by the black community, they are so quick to blame the whole community rather than some. That's the point I was trying to say.

That's on them, and their conscious. If they are insecure about themselves... they need ask themselves deep questions.

It's not a weight you, the black or anyone else needs to bear
