I'd honestly only add Johnny Depp as Jack Sparrow to this because Depp put so much of himself into the character that he is that character and no one else can be.

I'd honestly only add Johnny Depp as Jack Sparrow to this because Depp put so much of himself into the character that he is that character and no one else can be.

The original description of the character was a cocky pirate in the vein of a young Burt Lancaster in The Crimson Pirate but then Depp's acting choices made his version of Sparrow into what the character became.
I believe there are more than a few actors talented enough to do the same thing and create a Jack Sparrow that would be different than Depp's but just as good a performance.

And that's my point. Depp's acting choices made Sparrow into a character that is unique from the "written character". Other actors could've made the original part work, but Depp got it, and it is the Jack Sparrow that he portrayed that makes the role forever is.

I look at it from the viewpoint that a new actor would be playing their version of a role and not the version of a previous actor so the new interpretation could be just as good if not better.
So while no one could be Depp's version of Sparrow, I can see other actors in the role.

Well, in such a case even Harrison Ford would be replaceable. But I don't agree with that line of thinking simply because I do think there are roles that are etched in stone, but certainly not more than a handful over the entire past century of film.

But he don’t have the personality or charisma of Superman..... same with his Clark Kent. It just lacks something and comes off bland

He’s played the role 3 times, and it’s like he still ain’t showed growth in the role

Son, Superman/Clark Kent is a farm boy from the middle of the country. He ain’t supposed to have charisma, or much of a personality.

I haven’t seen SR since it was in theaters, so I can’t comment on Routh. But Cavill was solid in his role.
