What you like is irrelevant to my point. You having a great ear for music is subjective and not definitive at all.
You have a preference great it is your preference it isn't objective or the standard anyone has to meet though.
You don't like today's hip hop fine, don't listen to it.
Soulja Boy isn't my generation, I didn't come up listening to Laffy Taffy.
Again you are trying very hard to talk like your opinion is fact, it isn't, its your opinion and its your subjective preference.
Simple as that really.
Enjoy what you enjoy and be happy, but shytting on things and a generation because tastes of shifted won't make what you life become popular against and it definitely won't inspire the generation you are shytting on to suddenly want to give what you like a chance, its more likely to turn them off completely.
tastes have shifted, lil yatchy wouldn't have been called a gay weirdo when I was coming up, people would be embarassed to even have people know they listened to him, now its different. He has open fans and pretty large following to the point he is on national radio doing interviews. Why? Tastes and norms have changed. Simple as that.ALOT of people don't...young old and otherwise....taste haven't shifted....standards have been lowered....there is a difference

Lowering is again your subjective critique, it isn't a fact at all, just your opinion.
Labels exist to make money, if they don't support or push acts that people want they lose money. So if anything they are making what they see that people like. Album sales mean nothing, streams are the new metric, these companies are generating profit and getting access to the market they want.No because these labels are making life size butt fukk puppets. Pushing a sound that is not popular...as noticed by the album sales...but also capitalizing off the popularity of the artist. They create trolls to gain off the noteriety.....they pay these stations to play these artist. There is no single person on this earth that thinks 21 savage has lyrical skills. But he popping in these streets. His music is getting streams...and he is steadily creating followers. This s the age of social media talent...which has shyt to do with actual talent. These people find these wierdo ass nikkas to push in order to sale the image. The weirder the fukking better...which is why music is so overly saturated with talentless "artist"... they can't rap for shyt...but they are entertaining to look at right. And because they generate violence views they can generate money. They are all overly ego inflated fukk boys. Who tap dance for a buck....

Social media talent is a distinction without much a difference, you are talent or you aren't, you reach a audience or you don't. Social media is just a medium, no different than radio, concerts, or etc.
You don't like the fashion or personalities, you call them weirdos, people literally have called those who are seen as legends today the same thing when they were first breaking, again it shows your bias and myopic view.
As for generating violence views again this is your opinion, doesn't have much to do with demostrable fact. Hell your last few sentences were nothing more than unsupported conjecture influenced by your bias.
That said, again, its fine that you have your opinion, just be sure to recognize your opinion is just your own, it isn't a societal standard it isn't objective fact, just your opinion.
Simply put. The game is politics. You clearly don't understand that by your continued naive outlook in regards to the social programming I continue to touch on....this is not just my opinion either...my comments are synonymous with pretty much every popular criticism out there on these artist. You are actually in the minority on this one...probably because it's your preference of music. #facts.....but there is a reason these artist don't sell like a Drake or Kendrick or Cole...because they are popular characters who happen to "rap"...but many of them (try as they may)......simply can't
Its always been politics, we saw this before hip hop was even a artform with Motown, being the best example off the top of my head. This isn't new.
I understand your point, I just disagree and see you trying to impose your opinion for what it is, trying to impose your opinion as fact.
You comments if said by others would still be opinion, not ojective fact.
Doesn't really matter if I'm in the minority or majority, the reason and logic stands own its own. Your preference isn't fact or a standard.
There is a reason Velvet Underground didn't sell like the Beatles, they were characters, right? How about there is a reason Prince didn't sell like Micheal Jackson? There is a reason Silk didn't sell like Jodeci? there is a reason Usher doesn't sell like Beiber? I can go on and on. Fact of the matter is taste is subjective, sales aren't. I'm perfectly comfortable saying I like artists who weren't huge sellers, it didn't and doesn't effect my valuation of their work, just my opinion though. You need to mature and understand the same concept
So are thier artist you don't like? Do you not impose your opinion on why? Taste is subjective...but it doesn't make trash taste like Ice cream does it...trash will always be trash am I correct? The question at hand is is the music trash? The over whelming response is yes......if my opinion seems to resonate with the rather large majority...wouldn't it kind of seem like maybe it is true? The lack of talent many of these clowns possess is almost comical at this point. That they are mocking the culture OUR culture with shucking and jiving antics? Do you believe these artist are who they say...or just caricatures playing the roll of dimwit for masssa and change. ....ahem...2Chainz..........How we go from the brilliance of Jay Z to nikkas rocking purses and and shirtless scarfs? And the image is a issue but that all that can be overlooked if they just say something...anything worth the time it takes to give a fukk about the CRAFT of this genre. In 20 years we got moguls...geniuses...timeless music....multi hundred million dollar ventures...we got excellence...name of these new artist you see with the fortitude to push our culture and our legacy to those heights.....#hiphopisdeeperthenrap....
