Looking back at the show, I wonder if they had a meeting where it was agreed that the show needed more red bones. Cliff's father and extra daughters and son-in-law just seemed so out of place.

How? Man that is new age social media mess. Back in the day black folks were just happy to see black folks on tv. We didn't go around bytching on social media saying well them kids don't look like they can really be the father's kids or why the husband so light and the wife is dark and all that shyt.

No one bytched and said why lionel on the jeffersons dark skin and his daddy light skin or why his girlfriend /wife Jenny dark skin but her daddy white. We were just happy to see black folks in all shapes and colors on tv.
