Not shocked these days when you hear actors say they're not actually making much. You know there's trouble when you have a big name saying this . I think most of the money is from being an influencer and endorsing brands. I feel at the end of the day most actors aren't making much unless they're a big name attached to hot franchises

If you're in supporting roles, you probably have to get into as many things as possible because you're not going to get that Denzel Washington money.

man no art makes cash like that today. I saw kevin nash say in the 90s him and all the wrestlers would get like 40k just to do an episode of TV. The actors on the tv show itself were paid as well of course. Big money.
And 20 years later, he works 10 weeks straight for like 1/3 of what he made in a day. And the star of the show works for peanuts. He has to work all year everyday just to make the money he did in a week in 90s. Everythibg is down. Networks fonr get money for commercials like they did. Movies dont get ticket sales. Music dont sell period. Thats why concert tickets are 50x what they used to be. Think about how much money we dont spend on that stuff anymore. They lost all that.
Every super rich tyc00n from art world past 20 years got on based on investments outside the art sphere pretty much. Media is down BAD. streaming barely pays dikk. Internet killed it the whole thing. Thats why streamers are stars and make more money rn. Zero costs.
Network tv always paid millions. Noone making seinfeld money no more. Taylor sheridan has to write 10 shows by himself and use the land he owns for settings to save cash to pay for stars so his shows succeed. His end he gets to hawk YS merchandise like chilli and cowboy coffee. Suing his own actors for doing the same thing. This is why cgi replaced props and movies look like shyt.
Back in the day they survived off dvd sales and cd sales. Endorsements and commercials. Every movie had toy tie ins. You dont see that no more. Now all their stuff is free. Its played out 24h after dropping. An entire season in a day. Done. Thats why you see the same people on 10 shows a year.
Hes a supporting actor not a lead. He was nominated and is great, but hes not a draw. Draws earn the money. Actors get paid scale. Even gigantic names work for scale for movies they wanna do. Thats why they all become producers and directors themselves. Money. Wonder why most actors are kids of people in the industry? Theyre parents are footing their bills as they get roles. Nepotism from generations deep aka robert downey, drew barrymore, will smiths kids, etc etc. rich peoples kids get rich. Duh. The rest of us? Not so much.

I didnt say taylor sheridan was broke. You just made my point. He owns the land they film the shows on. That and him writing complete is how they pay big names like sly, costner and billy bob because hes working deals with the studio. Thats how hes making money. Because he basically gutted 2 entire aspects of filming for nothing: location and writing. Thats why they throwing everything at him and not someone else.
He just found his way to suceed and it works. Hes 1 guy.

This is sad. Djimon is one of my favorite actors. A lot of movies and shows put out. Millions worldwide made on a lot of these movies too. Definitely the studios hoarding most of the returns?
