This seems different ... involving arguably and perceptually the U.S.’s most powerful “lobby.” Of course you can’t get it ALL guns ... but watch how quick this legislation gets traction .
The only other place to go would be a gun ban. We already have designations of gun free zones and restrictions on assault weapons. Logically, a full on assault weapons ban could be placed on the books.
But understand something....a ban will simply embolden black market sales to extraordinary levels.
The issue comes back to the sheer size of this country. People talk about some place the size of France banning guns. That's like banning guns in an area the size of New York and Pennsylvania....maybe smaller. That's not that difficult. Compared to the US it's easy as all hell and could possibly be fully committed in about 2-3 years.
A ban or further restrictions really won't change much and I'm sure the guys in dc know this. It just sounds good. What should have been kept in check was the rhetoric and the constant and I mean constant passes given to home grown terrorism. It festered. A few people got charged here and there. Then somebody like trump comes along and lights a fire under it. With all the hell Obama caught from disgruntled republicans, Obama never received a pipe bomb in his mail.
Trump had to come along for that to happen. That's not a coincidence, folks.
There was a reason over half the country didn't want this dude. We didn't know details but something just didn't feel right. He exceeded expectations in a bad way.
