I'm Everywhere you ain't never there
This is so much bigger than hip hop. [/B]This is everything. This is gentrification. This is David Brooks' lame response to the new Ta-Nehisi Coates book. This is the absurdity of elitely-educated but narrow-minded white kids who have set themselves up as the gatekeepers and tastemakers of hip hop. This is the old, Broom-Hilda in the face and Snuffaluffagus in the body looking white co-worker I had who failed to finish her PhD yet boldly dismissed a James Baldwin essay as "safe and boring." This is every time Blacks do some ill shyt or try to have some shyt because we're kept away from the mainstream benefits of society, only to have our shyt flippantly ignored, mocked, and dismissed by clueless whites, who then try to vampire our wave 15-20 years late and reinscribe their own wackness on it and tell us what we should think about it.
I salute Ghost from the depth of my soul. Word to the planet.
It's both their faults. I already posted my reply in the Coliseum, but let's keep it 100. Ghost is SENSITIVE, sensitive to where it's sad to watch. He'd react like this if it was ANYONE saying this. Like I said there, Action shoulda just stuck to what he said. That's where he fukked up, but man Ghost can't keep using his trump card to hide the fact that he's been making mediocre shyt lately (which is what Bronson was sayin on SportsNation). If Bronson ain't built for that shyt then fall all the way the fukk back, but that "do you know who I am" shyt that Ghost pulled makes him look grumpy and sensitive, like he could never be criticized.
First off, I love Ghost, Supreme Clientele is one of my favorite albums, 5 mics to me, big Wu-tang fan growing up, infact that 4th chamber shadow boxing video that used to come on the Box got me into hip hop.....
But with that said, when my boy sent me the clip at first I was like WTF is this and why is ghost addressing this wack ass rapper, then I heard the clip of what ole boy said...
I agree with ghost, I get sick and tired of hearing these new dudes sample classic songs and phrases created from these songs, and never acknowledging the creator, like it hasn't only been 10-15 years ago, like these songs aren't easily available to listen to like these dudes are old and senile.. I hate whenever someone over 25 says they don't like a new artist, they are considered old and out of touch, or .. No its just these dudes are wack and disrespectful for no reason, they talk down on the people they should go to for help. This action Bronson guy has always been wack to me........
But at the same time, I just don't think what ghost said was that big a deal. Like if I had seen it first I would not have even thought to post it or send it to anyone I would rather hear some bars than a video of him cutting a promo... Just like when joe budden was talking his shyt to meth, I wanted them to respond back with bars, save the shyt talking for a breakfast club interview or something..
