If I remember correctly, Budden was reacting to an all time list. What he said about being able to rap better than Mef in 2007 was irrelevant as fukk when talking about all-time. Dude even dissed Melle Mel.

You're right, it was an all time list and Budden got confused. He was salty at that whole list, but he confused it and thought it was a list AT THAT TIME. When he disses Melle Mel he specifically says - have you heard him rap, recently? And he extended that to Meth as well.

Budden also spoke about BEST RAPPING ABILITY - for instance Canibus, one of the best lyricists is 31, and Too Short is on number 6.
