XXL finally got something right, hands down Joe Budden has the best mixtape series ever because they aren't mixtapes they are albums. You can play them from start to finish and the quality is better than 90% of albums put out, few rappers are seeing Joey bar for bar or song for song on MM2 and MM3. The only other series that comes close to me is the We Got It For Cheap series by The Re-Up Gang which were also fire.

just as G-Unit brought mixtapes back to the forefront, the Mood Muzik series changed the game for the better...

before Mood Muzik 2, how many artists were releasing quality SONGS on mixtapes?? By that I mean well written raps with concepts and wordplay over original production?

All you were hearing up until Mood Muzik 2 was artists freestyling over popular beats... Budden came through and gave us quality songs, shyt was such a breath of fresh air

these days it's standard for a rapper to release a mixtape full of original music that the label probably rejected for the album, and more times than not, it ends up being better than the album... but we forget that Budden was the one who really started that shyt when Def Jam lost faith and Hov was blackballing The Growth album

no problem with the list overall but there are a couple things that stand out to me.

* Jeezy's Real Is Back Series is :scusthov: never really fukked with those two tapes.

* is the Dreamchasers series much better than the Flamerz series??? idk

* while i'm glad they put Banks 2nd, did they put the right series??? imo 5 and better series is better than MITB but i guess they just put the older series there.

* No Max B tapes but that wack Cam and Vado shyt is there.. it is what it is.

these list are made for conversation so nikkaz can get they debate on so i can't be mad the list.

also for nikkaz that don't read:
"we excluded DJ series and collectives as well (Don’t worry guys, we loved G-Unit Radio, Diplomats Vol. 1-5, Green Lantern’s Invasion series, and We Got It 4 Cheap just as much as y’all)."

Whoo Kid did the Banks tapes tho

LOL The Mood Muzik series didn't change anything. And MM2 is so overhyped its ridiculous. It's a 'classic' now?

It's easily G-unit or the Dips. Crews who built a big time buzz both in the streets and online with em.
