There may have been a list of reasons why the Civil War happened, but to act like the slave cultural economic institution was not the primary or tied for primary reason of is fukked up and blatant watering down history.

If we're gonna real, he only did the emancipation to cripple the Confederacy, not some abolitionist compassion. Most peeps who were "freed", ended up having to go back to the same plantations as sharecroppers.

What would have been great is if the former slaves were provided with the means to prosper instead of just leaving them to wonder what to do next.

And After lincoln was assassinated Andrew Johnson took the land back. That was the “40 Acres and a mule” deal. A deal that BLACK freedmen negotiated and demanded by the way. It wasn’t Lincoln or the Union’s idea. The freedmen only had access to the land for about 5 months before the Cacs took it back
