i do so mostly because i get tired of explaining how and why i speak portuguese/spanish. its not about emphasizing the "latino" part is my mom is brazillian and proudly black/indigenous, but just so i dont have to go into entire paragraphs of personal lore.

How is this any different from folks deliberating emphasizing the "American" in their identity (ADOS/FBA)? For the record I'm cool with all these disclaimers cats feel the need to add to their identities.

This tells me nothing because the concept of being “AfroLatino” differs from each Hispanic country or Latin America.
For example in college I watched my very John Leguizamo in the face Colombian friend mark “African American” on his documents. He explained to me the reason. While it made zero sense in the context of the United States, it made perfect sense giving the racial politics of his country/culture and how it relates to the United States.
So polls like this tell me nothing
