So they’re real cases that would have gone to court, but the judgement is just paid by ABC, so it’s not a real judgement?

Can they take they take the case to real court, and the defendant be held liable for real?

All the judge shows do is act as an arbitrator. When someone has to pay, its legally bonding but the show pays the outcome. Thats why people go. Get found liable and you aint gotta pay out your own pocket. If you win, you guaranteed to get your money from the show.
