Vermont is the highest vaccinated state in the US by percentage and they are experiencing a huge outbreak of the virus at the moment. By that logic wouldn't it be the other way around as the vaccine is supposed to significantly slow the spread?

I get the misinformation argument but the people that die are the ones not taking the vaccine. It would be like if someone chooses to wear a seatbelt or not. The only person that suffers from not wearing the seatbelt is the one who made that decision. It does not harm anyone else. You may think logically about this fam but a lot of people (especially on this site) do not. There is also misinformation going around that unvaxxinated people are more likely to spread the virus which is not true and is causing a lot of unnecessary fear

your seatbelt analogy is poor since individuals not wearing seatbelts have been a danger to other occupants inside the vehicle as well.

before there was a vaccine, everyone was unvaccinated. every unvaccinated person pre-vaccine was still a potential threat to everyone else as a carrier for the virus. why do you think that wouldn't be the case any longer once a vaccine existed?
