White folks cherry pick who they choose to see to represent the body politik of Black people. I agree with everything else he said other than that bullshyt because if I get to making every white person out to be Trumpian shytstain hick out of some backwoods trailer home, I would be in the wrong.

20 years ago. He might be at Clarence Thomas levels at this point. (Clarence's bio is crazy. How you go from Malcolm was right, to what he is now?...)

The super duper militant types are usually the biggest/quickest to sellout

I agree with this part, I think a lot of folks hit that limit but don't want to talk about it. Could be a whole discussion.
It's a very common occurrence among conscious black men

You're young and you learn the history and plight of our people, and the older you get with seeing no substantial change the angrier you get. That anger then either flames out or recesses into apathy

Kendrick Lamar is actually a very tangible display of the process. On To Pimp A Butterfly Kendrick is angry and thinks his anger and consciousness will change the world. In the following years Kendrick realizes that the album won't change anything significant, black people wont likely see any meaningful change in our lifetime or after, and thus becomes angry at the album itself. This anger, disappointment, and growing apathy are what fed into DAMN

Look at someone like Jesse Lee Peterson. He's been a sambo clown show for the better part of two decades but go way back and you'll see him being as militant as it gets

There's definitely a discussion to be had about how society weighs on black men and how knowledge and consciousness become a burden and a fast road to apathy and hopelessness

Aaron Mcgruder is in that specific tier of black where his art is very accurate but it's also extremely apparent that he hates black people. Donald Glover skirts these lines too

To have the amount of awareness it takes to make something like Boondocks, it can definitely drive you off the deep end into apathy at the least
This is interesting

They don't care if we are kind and pleasant or rude and obnoxious. I've seen white people love and hate both of those things and black folks certainly aren't the only ones watching Love and Hip Hop.

People be putting white folks on a pedestal and don't even know it. They don't care because they aren't shamed enough.

:unimpressed:Not saying that black people shouldn’t take control of our image. But racist are gonna racist regardless of how we dress, speak, walk, or act. You’re not going to change the minds of people. Who wants you dead and values a dog’s life over yours. White people have spit in the faces of black doctors, and nurses while on their death beds. Like come on man be real.

Would you put Chapelle in this category?

The Coli can't handle that kind of talk.
Like most places on the net, nuance is dead so it will be full of cac this and c00n that :francis:

Because ya'll will pick the "worst of us," while actively ignoring the majority of us and go "LOOK AT BLACK PEOPLE!"

Take the Rap industry--it's marketed largley to white people! White male are the biggest consumers!

Meanwhile, black men are the most involved in the daily lives of their children--according to the CNC.

And the majority of black women are pursuing higher education and homeownership--according to several sources.

But, too many of us while cite rap videos and World Star to shyt on us.
