Each piece of circumstantial evidence has to be refuted 1 by 1 with plausible explanations. Which is possible for 1 or 2 pieces. That's a weak case.

But the problem arises once the defense has so much circumstantial evidence to dispute/explain away, that they're basically asking the jury to look at all of the pieces individually as misunderstandings, and as a whole, combined as one giant coincidence.

People aren't retards. No reasonable person would look at this overwhelming amount of circumstantial evidence and have enough doubt to acquit.

No body, no gun, no crime doesn't ring true any longer.
