A Year In, If You Were Running AEW What Moves Would You Make In Year 2??

Essentially a year in since it’s inaugural PPV, Double Or Nothing 1 on May 25, 2019, the first year has been fairly successful.

What moves would you make to keep momentum going, if you were running AEW?


1. Introduce Trio Titles

• Death Triangle (Pac, Pentagon Jr., Rey Fenix)
• Jurassic Express (Jungle Boy, Luchasaurus, Marko Stunt)
• SCU (Christopher Daniels, Frankie Kazarian, Scorpio Sky)
• The Inner Circle (Any combination of Chris Jericho, Santana & Ortiz, Jake Hager, and Sammy Guevara)
• The Elite (The Young Bucks, Cody, Kenny Omega, Adam Page)
• MJF with The Butcher and The Blade (potentially including Wardlow)
• The Dark Order (Brodie Lee, Evil Uno, Stu Grayson etc)
• Best Friends (Trent, Chuck Taylor, Orange Cassidy)

2. Turn Hangman Page into an anti-hero/tweener

• Break him away from the Elite and drop the tag titles to Lucha Bros or another tea
• Either have him go at the Elite, possibly Cody for the TNT Title

3. Sign Revival and Rusev

• Maybe have the Revival join up with Page when he breaks up with the Elite
• Revival can go at the Bucks, while Page goes at Cody
• Rusev would be a great addition to the mid-card/main event scene

Book long term more efficiently. I hated that they were going to do blood and guts on about a 3 week build. Yes, the Elite and Inner Circle had been feuding since episode 1, but when they announced the match, they hadn't interacted for a couple months. The build for Stadium Stampede is what the build for Blood and Guts should be.

-Tell Darby to tone it down. He's a franchise player, but his luck is going to end sooner than later doing dumb spots when they are not needed.

-Hire Victoria and/or Sarah Stock to help the women's division. They are getting better, but they still need alot of help. Too many blown spots happening at what is supposed to be a top level company.

-Push Trent towards the TV title. The past couple months have shown there is money in him

-Modify the tag team rules. Relax the rules in tag matches. It's so inconsistent from match to match, they should just set a universal rule set and announce it so we can stop criticizing it.

-Sit down Fenix and tell him he has to modify his ring work. Hes a decent wrestler, but he should not be no selling moves and hitting springboard stunners. I hated, but tolerated, it in the beginning when he stayed down (like he used his last burst of energy to stop his opponent) but now he no-sells and just continues the match.

-Let the lesser known people wrestle more on Dynamite. I'm not a fan of Flamboyant wrestlers, but let Sonny Kiss squash a jobber so people can see what he can do. Same thing with Austin Gun or other men and women on the roster. One segment a week on Dynamite and let them compete against the main roster talent on Dark. (Sidenote, I stopped watching Dark a few months ago, if they do this, ignore my Dark comment)

keep building the women’s division and start to add women factions

Utilize the “time limit” more. I love how they announce it, but it’s rarely implemented or matters

They’ve got a lot of good going for them. Just stay the course

Hire better female talent.
Sign only the best releases from wwe.
Rusev and aiden English
The revival that’s it.
Best bout machine needs to close the show more.

A better women’s division wouldn’t hurt, it’s currently the weakest out of the big 3 companies.

- Hire Victoria/Sara Stock to sort out the women's division: They got a decent enough mix of talent, but Kenny books the division in such a way that it doesn't reflect as such. Maybe try to bring in women like Priscilla Kelly full time, Jamie Hayter (Since they have Bea Priestly), Alexia Nichole, Kaci Lennox, etc. and cutting a bit of filler from the division entirely.

- THROW THE BAG AT RUSEV AND LET HIM WORK: Look, you don't WANNA sign a lot of E castoffs. TNA made the mistake of signing any and everybody from the company up north when they should've limited it to the Jeff Hardy's/Kurt Angles/Christian Cage's of the world... but Rusev is a must. Idc, Idc. That man got everything he touched over in spite of the booking he was presented. He is somebody who COULD be the biggest thing in a company with the right booking. Get him at all costs.

- Partnership with NJPW: Get it out the way and stop p*ssyfooting around. At least half of your core guys either work there or hold a title there, and would love to continue working there. Set up a deal with Turner Broadcasting and help them get stable footing in the states, then work from there.

- Continue building the future talent: IE. Darby Allen, Sammy G, Hangman Page, OC, Jungleboy, MJF. These are gonna be the guys that have next up, so do NOT fukk them up. Tell Darby to tone the dangerous spots down, let Sammy G get an important win every so often, continue doing everything else you're doing with the other three RIGHT (And find a mouthpiece for Jungleboy).

Jungle Boy? Cmon now. Brian Cage is a going to make an impact and I think Rusev would give him a great match with Aiden English being his mouthpiece.
