What I'm saying has nothing to do with a defeatist mindset, it's the reality we live in, we can't rail against white supremacy so much that we become delusional about what's actually happening in the world we live in. Cops aren't asking for DNA before harming someone they classify as Black, racist white people aren't won't see a person that appears Black and feel relieved once they discover that "one of the parents is Black".

if a person has two parents, one white and the other Black, and identifies as Black, I'm not going to ostracize that person or tell them that they aren't Black, we already have enough division in our communities, I'm not looking for ways to create more.

I feel you. I just think we've come along way even tho we have more to go. Preference for white standards of beauty has dropped significantly compared to the past. We are much more willing to embrace our true features imo

I stay around ALOT of Africans and never heard this rhetoric. But in practical terms my response would be that my ancestor who was kidnapped from Africa could have very well been a relation to an ancestor of yours who was lucky enough to not be captured.

In practice you can't realistically separate biracials from blackness. How would you treat a light skin dude with braids who's good at basketball and always free styling with a white mom different than a light skin with a black mom? And they're both from the same area. You wouldn't.

So is he black because he plays basketball and raps? Sounds like he has an affinity for some elements of a stereotypical black culture. He not black though. Still mixed raced. And I don't seem why that is wrong to say.
