Yeah, after Low End Theory they decided to raise the standard of 5 mics. Same reason Whut? Thee Album didn't get 5, either. That's why it was a big deal when Illmatic got it.

If anything I somehow find 4.5 mics more impressive than 5 lmao. I think a perfect rating always has a bandwagon effect or agenda behind it while a 4.5 is like the highest possible honor for something standing on its own
