as I told my mom, I remember TJ being at the cemetary, but that nicca didn't get kidnapped, I forgot how the villains died but the brother didn't die like that, he ended up killing himself, I for got how ( I haven't read the book in more than a decade), I forgot why the villains targeted the wife in the first place but he was a drug dealer and he survived. There is a passage in the book he wanted to move to Africa but his wife was scared of niccas. She asked him "what if they take over the country, what do we do?" He replied, "I don't know, its their country"
the brother told a joke once "what's the difference between a drunk and a junkie?"

TJ and Matthew didn't meet like that, that happened in another book, That is Matts origin story when they shot that girl eye out but that isn't in that book
one of these days I might read it again to refresh, its been a long time, But I can tell you that is how Matt solved cases. He get a little info here and there, assumes a lot, and uses his experience and history as a cop on how humans act to jump to conclusions which are usually right. And then he pushes and pushes until the case breaks.
