Some of you aren't appreciating the musicality of this album. The chord progression and all the nuanced aspects of the production is extremely refreshing to hear in this day and age of "stripped down but everything made louder" music
i made a mistake here, lost somebody is the joint i totally dont like. everything else is dope.
the sonic freedom on this album, along with jarobi's presence, the loose light-hearted sound, reminds a lot of their first one.
de la did the same thing this year, went all the way back to the pop psychedelic shyt from 3 feet. quiet as kept they did that on the first serve project too.
i know a lot of people fell in love with the harder edge versions of tribe and de la, but you have to consider that tribe didnt get hardcore until their 2nd album and de la didnt really get that way until their 4th. so die hard fans are going to have a strong reaction. i say that to say, it wholly possible that nobody is overreacting like ppl keep saying. the music is dope
