The dude that played Hannibal was jealous because Mr. T made more than him and was considered the star of the show. Wouldn't call him by name, referred to him as the guy with the gold chains.Things got so bad the two stopped speaking and Mr. T quit in the middle of the next to last season but the show's producers lured him back. But for the rest of the show, his screen time was drastically cut.
Check out last half of Season 4 and most of Season 5. Mostly the Face and Murdock duo. Then they brought on the Puerto Rican dude for the last season (5), further pushing T into the background. It was clear that if the show continued they were getting ready to write B.A. out or kill him off.
Peppard/Hannibal also made it known he didn't think the show needed females and played a part in getting the 2 girls fired. Dirk and Dwight got their shots in too with the "he's not a serious actor" crap. Like their asses did anything notable before A team and since. The dude that plays Murdock did theater and still does voice acting but nothing than can touch Mr. T's legacy.

Peppard was a huge a$$hole and diva in general though, not just to Mr T. You already mentioned it but he hated the idea of female characters on the team and got rid of both the recurring female cast members. There's quite a famous story over here about them being invited to The Netherlands for a huge celebration and Peppard was boasting about the honor all day long until he found out the whole team was invited (the invitations had been sent out separately), so he got pissed off and refused to show up while the others did. I don't know about Schultz but I do know that Benedict pretty much stayed away from all the behind-the-scenes drama because coming of Battlestar Galactica this was his big money-maker and he didn't want to ruin it.

I agree there shouldn't be females on the team it messes up the dynamic...
But you say that not even knowing the new dynamic to the team though.

I mean I know I there are females serving in the military but all good buddy cop shows have guys with good chemistry between them Look at knight rider, strike back, butch cassidy and sundance, to name a few...

That's the 80s though breh, new day, new shyt. Look at Illsa Faust in Rogue Nation. She was the lone female in a boys club but it worked out pretty well. You can have a team of three guys and one female or two guys and two females. It's all about their chemistry beyond the camera
