would love wiseman. I have a feeling they gonna try to get a wing tho smh

Yeah, this one feels weird. I really think I want Wiseman, but I feel like there's several other solid players in this draft that could be good for us too if he's not on the board. Additionally, center by committee has worked for us (arguably to varying levels of success) for the past few years, so maybe looking for a center in FA could work too...there are options, depending on what our draft position ends up being.

Who are you looking at?

Warriors get great news about $17.2 million trade exception

The $17.2 million trade exception the Warriors received as part of the Andre Iguodala trade with the Memphis Grizzlies last summer arguably is Golden State's most prized asset at the moment. With it, the Warriors could absorb any player's 2020-21 salary up to that amount.

At the time of the trade, the exception was set to expire on July 7 -- precisely 36 hours after the start of free agency. Since it wasn't eligible to be used prior to the conclusion of the league moratorium at noon (ET) on July 6, the Warriors would have been in a significant time crunch within which to use it. Once the season was indefinitely paused do the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic in March, however, it wasn't clear if the expiration deadline would be pushed back, or if Golden State simply would be out of luck.

Well, not to worry, Warriors fans. The NBA has done the right thing.

According to ESPN's Bobby Marks, the Warriors' $17.2 million trade exception now will expire on Oct. 25. Free agency is slated to begin on Oct. 18, meaning Golden State actually will have a larger window within which to use the trade exception than the team would have in a traditional year.

Warriors' offseason primer: What must Golden State do to build a contender?

But according to a league source, Golden State is unlikely to let a drop in the cap change how it approaches roster-building. Lacob realizes that with Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green all in their early 30s, the Warriors might only have a three- or four-year window to win another title.

“These days, it’s looking increasingly likely that Golden State will deal the traded player exception straight up for a player. The Warriors have identified several potential top-five picks they like.”

“As is the case every year, the Warriors can round out their roster with minimum contracts. One name that has already gained traction within Golden State’s organization is forward Glenn Robinson III, who, before being traded to Philadelphia at the deadline, resuscitated his career in 48 games with the Warriors.”

Isn’t the cap about to drop like crazy next season? That’s gonna make it even harder to get a quality player.
