This is a joke? I like Stunning Steve Austin and him harassing Bret was funny to me from the get go because he USED TO be Stunning Steve Austin. But come on..if you saw the Rock in 98, he basically is the star he is today because everyone wanted to cheer for him by WM 15 for being the best villain of the era. He tried to literally kill Austin on TV...beat Foley's brains in...had Chyna turn on Cripple H but not before making him say "I QUIT!"...almost murdered Ken Shamrock...talked to Chyna like she was a groupie who needed to get d1cked down...

This was a question that popped into my head while going through the when did The Rock surpassed Austin thread.

We always debate who was the biggest and best babyface between the 2 but who do y'all think was better at playing the heel?

Most notable heel run from Austin was the majority of 2001 when he sided with McMahon and later HHH.

Most notable heel run from The Rock was when he came back and beat Austin at WrestleMania 19 with the Hollywood gimmick while having concerts singing and shytting on the city he's performing.

This is a question I never heard discussed before. Who y'all rolling with?:yeshrug:

So you just going to forget about him destroying jake and delivering the austin 3:16 speech, breaking into brianpillmans house, and destroying the beloved fan favorite baby face bret hart on a weekly basis "s infront of hit man"?

Most of which was greeted as if he was a face by the fans, which isn't exactly true heeling.

The Rock acted a heel and was received as a heel. Thunderous heat wherever he went.

Stone Cold playing heel turned him into the pretty much biggest face the industry ever saw.

Austin outside of Canadian Stampede never really had the crowd ANGRY at him no matter what he did, he didn’t really abuse the crowd the way he verbally abused his opponents. He did a little in the 01 turn but no one wanted to boo Steve Austin at that point

Rock tho has several moments where the crowd was  at him, he rarely missed an opportunity to rub the fans faces in the dirt and it sucked because he was right. The Fans picked the fight with the Rocky sucks stuff

No Way Out 2003 is the reaction every heel should strive for. They waited until he walked out on that ramp and booed the every living fukk out of him. It was amazing

Survivor Series 1998 and the RAW after

Hollywood Rock in Toronto, Sacramento, Cleveland

Royal Rumble 1999

Even when Stone Cold was an ornery piece of shyt I thought he was cool, whereas I legit hated Hollywood Rock and Silk Shirt Rock so I know firsthand Rocky is by far the stronger heel.

Austin’s heel run in 01 was great but gets overlooked cause it should have never happened in the first place.

Rock’s 03 heel run was much needed and amazing, as was his Corporate Rock persona. Will have to go with Rock here.

One, it's the Rock.

Two, Austin was never face. He just changed his targets. Outside of saving Stephanie from marrying Taker, breh didn't exhibit much honor or moral compass if you think about it. Austin was the GOAT of fukkery though.

Austin repped people who were tired of being treated like shyt by their bosses. He most definitely was a face and the reason he struck a chord with so many people :pachaha:

I feel that, but Austin was WWF Champion for much of that run and McMahon gave that man a ton of leniency in the grand scheme because he KNEW how valuable he was to his overall business. At one point Stone Cold actually assumed control of the WWF. Have to ask exactly where the shyt treatment really came from, especially when Austin started that shyt by Stunning innocents and doing the same to McMahon.

He struck a chord with people because he actually put the paws on his boss DAMN NEAR NIGHTLY. There's a lot of folk that would do well with being able to give their superior a two piece with a biscuit once every 4-6 weeks.
