Naw it's way more important for Women.
They put way more thought into it than men with like features, bone structure, teeth alignment, face length and width, eye placement etc.
Most men just go with what's regarded as conventionally acceptable/passable at the minimum. Plus if the woman has a good body but isn't facially great she'll be given a pass.
Like the other breh said, most women are not interested in men who they find facially ugly, unless they're a pure goldigger or social climber.

Being a nerd is a bonus for a lot of women if you have a good sense of humor and some charm. Being awkward is the problem. True 6'0"+ handsome gang can pull off awkward but no one else can do that shyt.
This is facts. I remember this one chick looked at my picture and was like how can someone be so ugly. This same picture landed me some of the most beautiful women but it didn't impress her at all. It be like that.
If you aren't a Trey Songz looking nikka, there is always someone who probably don't think you are cute. But if most women think you are fine and lust over you, and the baddies make an effort and put in work to get you, you handsome gang.
We value looks more than women do on average, they just more delusional about their looks

was thinking about the whole "black nerd" subject. I was looking up arguments and thread about it on sites all over the web, the main argument people use is that nerdy black guys don't settle for nerdy black girls. 3 things crossed my mind.
1.
I've seen homely/nerdy white guys with women out of their league, same goes for Hispanic, Middle Eastern, and even Indian and Asian. Why does settling and "staying in your lane" only apply to black guys?
2.
Black women don't mind dating nerdy/homely guys from other races. White guys brag about this all the time, as do Hispanics. I've never, ever seen a scrawny or short black guy that had the "nerdy" aesthetic going on with a black girl that looked "out of his league"
3.
That thing about corny black guys only wanting Instagram thots is bull. Maybe a few, but I guarantee that as long as you’re not overweight or completely hideous in the face a nerdy black guy (or any nerdy guy) would flock to you regardless of race. The problem is that a lot of those cute and thin nerdy black girls are taken, usually by cacs or Asian guys.
Something I’m also thinking about is how, when black women complain about black men being like this towards them nobody ever blames themselves the way black guys do to each other. You’d sooner get a thread full of black women talking like a bunch of alt right 4chners before you see them blame themselves and the men they seek or associate with.
