In 2017 the effects of buying a house a greater than throwing away money on rent..Obviously it is incumbent on the potential homeowner to ensure that there property is in a reasonable area that ensure theres enough appreciation overtime to sustain whatever downturn happens in the market as was in the case in '07-'08..I just bought a house myself in which the owner paid $190k 10 years ago, I bought it for $110k and the price for it is already appreciating thanks to Trump being in office..Ill keep it as investment property since its in a great location that is perfect for renting..of course shyt was different 50 years ago but one thing for certain is that the average millennial is not going to build WEALTH via renting or staying in moms basement
My buddy is making ~80k a year paying 500/month for a room outside of Denver proper. He's building up just fine and doesn't have to fix broken pipes or buy new appliances or carpets.

I'm happy for your setup but the cost benefit is very individualized because the market isn't what it once was. People used to see 10% growth yearly in housing. Those days are over, but we have to pay for that growth. Like I said in that other post wages have been stagnant for a while now, you can look that up, go ahead. Real estate has outpaced them by a good clip. Bring those two factors together and realize people have different values and situations than you. I have another friend who travels and picks up trimming weed for a few months a year. Pays his entire lifestyle. I don't pay rent or a mortgage, but talking down to people about it is dumb. There are just causes and conditions. Think about some of these a little deeper and you probably wont be so quick project your situation and values onto others. Of course there are losers in basements and thots, who gives a shyt

Yea and if you flipping property the right way you can augment the situation of wages being stagnant...Put up $20,000 for a down payment on a nice investment property and you'll make that back in two years renting it out and whatever after that is straight cake...Im not trying to talk down on people just saying its annoying to hear people complain about stagnant wages when there are ways to increase your income via investment without relying on a stagnant check..Use the stagnant check as a base to invest today for better income on your own tomorrow..Seems like lazy ass millennials have lost the ability to go out and and get this cream due to all the distraction and vanity..I dont wanna hear no complaining when there are ways such as online jobs, certs, property investment, etc to not have to worry about a 9 to 7 stagnant check

After high school, if you don't go to school for a skill/college or get a job, your parents SHOULD CHANGE THE LOCKS ON YOU.

If they provided free food and shelter for 18yrs, they need a break to build their own retirement and enjoy their living space without the slacker adult in their house.

"Can't be bothered with enrolling in school or finding a job."

Can't be bothered. Right, because school is free and good jobs are plentiful.

Oh wait that's not how it works at all.

We Live In A Generation That Refuses To Let Go Of Their Cartoons, Video Games, Wrestling And Zip Up Pajamas So Its Not Surprising lol

edit:

And I'm Not Saying Any Of Those Things Are Bad But, When It Consumes Your Everyday Life And You Become A 20-30 Year Who Acts Like A 12 Year Old With Nothing But Free Time And A Nice Allowance Don't Be Surprised When Your Kid Ways Lead You To A Kid Like Life.

There is somehow a misconception that having any of these interests are correlated with poverty or having a dysfunctional life.

Bottom line the only difference between washed up "Madden Kings" and Jamal the A&R rep is hustle. Other than that they are virtually one in the same negro.

I lived in harlem, weekly Vegas motels, south central because i knew I couldn't work a full time job and become what I wanted to be without making sacrifices. I literally sacrificed my life to live in those areas so I could network and build myself up in those metros.

I had no family to lean on for financial support and you probably do This shyt ain't easy, stop complaining and playing a victim.

Times change you stupid fakkit. I bet you still think talking to a a manager and a firm handshake gets you a job. :mjlol:

@Bernie Madoff I am not sure if you are trolling but this ain't the 80's anymore.

You can't just hit the pavement no more. Juan Carlos can just walk into a factory job and say "I needa thee work mayne" and Billy Boy will hire him for $0.65 on the dollar. We don't have that option any longer.

I've said as much myself in this thread. The boot strap mentality doesn't work.

Oh wait that's not how it works at all.

School is free for government welfare recipients and good jobs are plentiful for Tim, Billy and Brad.
