Stacey Dash was married to a white guy for 3 years who was cheating on her and beating on her. Let's not act like white guys in the entertainment industry aren't doing some grimy stuff too. Black men in the public eye are put under a microscope. While guys like Charlie Sheen are praised for being jerks or their shady activity is glossed over.
Heck, even the female white actresses like Kristen Stewart and Angelina Jolie did some shady stuff and the backlash dissipated pretty quickly.

She thows out shyt like this to both justify getting black woman-roles and preemptively temper any backlash that she would receive for getting black woman roles like the character from Star Trek and Nina Simone.
