Anyone over 40 knows that use to be us. Kids would go to stores for their parents at young ages all the time. I don't know what happened but a new generation of parents would do things like send their kids to shopping malls for Halloween versus letting them go in the neighborhood. Thinking while typing, I guess people using child protective services against neighbors a while ago helped change the flexibility parents gave kids.

The show is being extreme about it but kids really do be moving around on their own doing chores or taking trains to schools out there. They even have women and children only public transportation to accommodate for them.
