On a slow day there's close to 2k members on the site.

4k people browsing that aren't registered.

Obviously every sub-forum willl get an influx of people when registration is opened but right now there's way more than enough people to fill another sub-forum....if there was interest.

There isn't any interest. Most people here would rather sit in TLR all day arguing about politics and transsexuals.

With or without open registration a book sub-forum would go triple cardboard.

2000 active members isn’t a lot, especially across 10 or so forums. An even split is about 200 members per forum. More members mean more activity, not saying it will be the most popular.

It's not 2k active members. It's 2k on right now.

Every other similar forum either never closed registration, or they're owned by a larger parent company.

For an independent closed registration forum that has been around a decade....2k at this time of day is a lot. I'm not sure what you're comparing it to.

If ya'll open the site to registration, please understand that the shyt that gets said on here will get this place either bombarded by trolls OR even worse, the spotlight will be on this place...

Make a New Member area and make it so that you can't leave there until you have 100-500 posts

If you're -1,000 into the red you shouldn't be able to make threads

Generally these posters have had neg trains run on them (and usually with good reason) OR they're just shyt posters

I could have sworn a few years ago there was some sort of arts and crafts type subforum for creative shyt that eventually went nowhere until it was scrapped. I think it was in the Film room. It was a while ago so my memory could be a lil off, but I think it was when registration was open too.

basically I'm agreeing with you. Certain shyt looks dope in theory, but at the end of the day after shyt cools down, most people run to TLR for fukkery. A Book subforum would be nice, but I don't think it would hold long term interest.

and ppl who already have multiple screen names adding more lol

I'm sure there are people savvy and determined enough to get around it, but there are tools to combat shyt like this. Yet another reason the site's software needs an update !!!!
